Had this delicious hinabe (that’s the Japanese translation from Chinese, though… I guess in English it would be called Sichuan hot pot?) Saturday night. Even though it was just in a chain restaurant, it was extremely good. Hot pot meals are right up there with yakiniku (Japanese name again, this time for Korean barbecue) for me as far enjoyable dining experiences go. We stayed for over three hours eating and drinking. That’s just the nature of having to cook bite-sized pieces of food in boiling water before eating them. It goes well with beer.
