Thanks to H for this amazing and beautifully trippy video. Make sure you can hear the sound, too. Hard as it is to believe, this is real footage from an outdoor performance in London last May.

You can easily make an afternoon of checking out some of the larger grocery stores in Tokyo. This one was in the basement of Isetan department store in Shinjuku.

Hinabe (火鍋)

Hinabe (火鍋)

Had this delicious hinabe (that’s the Japanese translation from Chinese, though… I guess in English it would be called Sichuan hot pot?) Saturday night. Even though it was just in a chain restaurant, it was extremely good.  Hot pot meals are right up there with yakiniku (Japanese name again, this time for Korean barbecue) for me as far enjoyable dining experiences go. We stayed for over three hours eating and drinking.  That’s just the nature of having to cook bite-sized pieces of food in boiling water before eating them.  It goes well with beer.
